While some may shy away from conflict at work, collaboratively working through disagreements in the workplace can help employee productivity and spur personal development. It’s critical for team members to know their conflict tendencies, and to work to build self-awareness of how their instincts may differ from what the situation calls for.

This workshop on hybrid and remote conflict skills provides simple, practical techniques for assessing a conflict scenario and making a strategic decision for how to move forward to achieve the best solution while also strengthening and building trust amongst remote colleagues.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover how to use the “Five Modes of Conflict” model to assess a conflict, understand your options and execute a productive strategy that minimizes disruption and maximizes your likelihood of success.
  • Develop a self- discovery exercise to understand your own personal preferences and tendencies when it comes to conflict at work.
  • Explain the steps to effectively conduct a collaborative conflict resolution process in a remote setting.
  • Construct tools and techniques for effective virtual communication during a conflict including active listening skills, question-asking techniques and “reframing” techniques necessary to diffuse unproductive tension and focus on forward-looking problem solving.
